Richa Chadha shuts down troll for questioning reservation for women: ‘You should be retracted into the womb’

Richa Chadha shut down a Twitter user who questioned why women deserve reservation.

Actor Richa Chadha on Tuesday responded to a Twitter user who tagged her in a tweet demanding to know ‘why women need reservation’. The Twitter user had said that women should instead ‘win through merit’.

He wrote, “Why do women need reservation. Do Dey consider demslvs lesser than men?? Kindly win through your own merit.” Richa, in her response, tweeted, “You should be retracted into the womb, with immediate effect. And then declined as a possibility.”

Richa regularly shuts down trolls on Twitter. After the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, she was asked by one person why she hadn’t commented on it. She wrote back, “xactly how are we ‘keeping quiet’? How dare you suggest that ? You know that the police is investigating the matter and everyone is cooperating by providing statements and clues. Trolls like you ignore the role of mental health in this scenario, going after his real friends, harassing them…for what? And you call yourself a doctor ? What if someone kills themselves because of trolls like you ? Should you be booked for abetment to suicide? F**k off please for insinuating that anyone at all is keeping quiet. You’re a disgrace to his memory.”

Richa is known for her voicing her opinions on social media. Unlike her contemporary, Swara Bhasker, she said that she hasn’t faced any professional repercussions for her outspokenness. She said in a recent Hindustan Times interview, “I don’t think there’s been any impact professionally. Personally, I do feel what happens sometimes is I am held to higher standards than others, that’s the flip side. People expect me to be that, and at times are like ‘we didn’t expect this from you, we wanted better from you’. There is the burden of those expectations.”

Recently, when her Panga co-star Kangana Ranaut compared herself to Meryl Streep, Gal Gadot and Marlon Brando, Richa, without naming any names, shared checklists to identify sociopaths and narcissists.

The actor was seen in back-to-back releases Shakeela, Madam Chief Minister, and Lahore Confidential.with thanks-Hindustan Times
