The Delhi administration has also announced a special e-passes for only family members for wedding purposes. The e-passes can be obtained from Delhi government website www.delhi.gov.in
Facing stiff challenges due to the recent spike in the number of Covid-19 cases in the national capital, the Delhi administration on Wednesday issued a fresh set of guidelines regarding e-passes to travel during night lockdown for attending wedding functions.
Since the month of April is packed with weddings in the national capital, the Delhi administration has also announced a special e-passes for only family members for wedding purposes. The e-passes for all permitted movement can be obtained by applying on the Delhi government website – www.delhi.gov.in.
Since e-passes are required for several essential activities, including banking services, there may be a scramble to procure them. During the lockdown last year, the government’s e-pass server witnessed several glitches with a huge traffic on the system.
The Delhi government has also advised the wedding planners for early wedding ceremonies while limiting the number of guests. As per the new guidelines the state administration has asked the guests at the wedding to leave the venue early to return home on time.
The order issued by the DDMA said: “The situation of Covid-19 in Delhi has been reviewed and it has been observed that there has been a sudden increase in cases in the recent past along with a high positivity rate. Therefore, it is felt that a night curfew needs to be imposed in the national capital territory from 10pm to 5am, except for essential activities/services, as an emergency measure, for the wellbeing and safety of people.”
The Delhi government on Tuesday announced to impose a night curfew, from 10 pm to 5 am till April 30. This comes after the national capital witnessed about 4,000 new Covid-19 cases on Monday. The new lockdown rules will apply to all people and goods & services movements except those that fall under essential services. “People who want to get Covid-19 vaccination will be exempted but will have to get an e-pass. Shopkeepers selling essential goods like groceries, fruits, vegetables, milk, and medicine will be allowed to move after getting an e-pass. Print and electronic media will also be allowed to move only through e-pass,” the Delhi government order said.
